Neck Lift Surgery Sydney
As we age our face and neck become susceptible to sagging skin, excess fat and a loosening of the muscles. Neck Lift Surgery is usually incorporated into a facelift procedure as neck sagging is usually accompanied by sagging of the jowls or skin over the lower jaw, and the best way to correct this requires a combination of Neck Lift Surgery and lower Facelift Surgery. As with all our patients, no two people present with the same problem, and therefore no two people ever require the same solution. We will help determine if neck surgery alone is correct for you.
Neck Lift Surgery can incorporate tightening of loose, sagging skin and muscles in conjunction with liposuction, liposculpture or fat transfer. Incisions are made in the fold under the chin and behind the ear, so scarring is hidden as much as possible. Excess fat may be removed by liposuction if required and the underlying muscles are tightened and secured with stitches. The skin is tightened and joined together for a smoother neck profile.
After Neck Lift Surgery, you may have to wear a chin strap for around a week for support and to assist healing. After this, the stitches will be removed and most people can return to work. The majority of swelling and bruising resolves in about 4 weeks, when your new neckline will be visible.
We in Ingorgeous may recommend combining a necklift or Neck Liposuction with a facelift or non-surgical skin rejuvenation, such as Laser Skin Resurfacing to smooth out wrinkles and remove brown age spots for optimum results to your neck, jawline and skin.
